Definition

sh.abortMoveCollection(namespace)

Stops an in-progress moveCollection operation.

New in version 8.0.

This method must run on the admin database.

Compatibility

This command is available in deployments hosted in the following environments:

  • MongoDB Atlas: The fully managed service for MongoDB deployments in the cloud

Note

This command is not available on the Atlas Shared Tier or on Atlas Serverless.

Syntax

sh.abortMoveCollection( "<namespace>.<collection>" )

The following example stops the in-progress move of the sales.us_accounts collection to a new shard.
